Our Boat!!!

My grandparents Friends gave us a small paddle boat that they didn't use any more.
We had to clean it , scrape barnacles off , and put on a coat of bottom paint but it was worth it we got to ride in it for the first time yesterday and it was really fun. I'm the captain , Joshua is the helmsman, and Mike is a passenger. The boat is about 6'-8' long and about a' wide and is pretty easy to paddle once you get the hang of it, but the first time out of the slip we went in a lot of circles, but overall we had fun.

It's the most wonderful (and busy) time of the year!

Well I have been busy. I had my Christmas cantata on Sunday and have had to baby-sit my
siblings for my mom and dads Christmas parties. Well I am going to the Mobile annual "Christmas and Holiday Parade" tomorrow and hope to get some good pics. (I do solemnly pledge and promise to post my pictures if I get them) HAHAHOHO:) And I have a pet adoption tomorrow. SO I am and have been very busy but I will try to post more often.

Happy Holidays Happy Holidays Why Can't We Say Merry Christmas Any More???

Because "some one" might get offended. Isn't it ridicules every thing is about Christmas but
you can't say Merry Christmas EVERY THING is Happy Holidays, Holiday Parties, Holiday decor, ect. It makes me want to scream why can't we celebrate the REASON FOR THE SEASON, God's one and only son becoming human being born as a baby living a real life and then dying to save us from our sins. But alas hardly any one talks about THAT no it's Santa and Rudolph and Frosty and all the other caricatures and people saying Happy Holidays. Pardon my ranting but this gets under my skin and I hope it gets under yours to. I t has gotten so bad that some colleges are now forbidding students to decorate their dorms for Christmas, and have canceled their Christmas card competitions and other "Christmasy" things so that the invisible "someone" (that has not complained about any thing) will not get offended. Please try to say Merry Christmas when ever you can and maybe if enough of us do then we can show that people in general are not offended if somebody tells them to have a Merry Christmas. By the way Merry Christmas and through out all the shopping and parties, and other festivities try to remember The Reason For The Season.
I hope you all have a safe and blessed Christmas and New Year.

My My My So Busy!!!!

The time has flown! We have been painting our house and I have been really busy.(I have said that in sevral posts and it's true) Well I have also had other things that I have been doing.
First my puppy got the dreaded parvo virus and had worms :( but the vet gave her some shots for the parvo and it cleared up and then I gave her the deworming pill so she is getting better. :)
Also I am now a volunteer at one of our local animal shelters so I have been busy with adoptions.
Well that's it for now. I will try to post more latter.

SEC Championship Here We Come!!!!!!

Alabama beat LSU today 27-21 in OT. Making them now 10 and 0. :) They will now play in the
SEC championship and if they win that will most likely play in the national championship. This would be the first time Alabama was in the national championship since 1993 when they beat the Miami Hurricanes.

Christmas Cantata !!

Well I am going to sing in a Christmas Cantata with my grandparent's church choir.
The songs that we are singing are soo pretty, and they are telling the whole Christmas story in song. I have been going to practice on Wednesdays and yesterday I was able to hit some VERY high notes that I have not been able to hit before.:) (I would try and my voice would crack) :(
Any way I am really happy and can't wait 'till the actual Cantata.:p

Alva's first fish!

Yesterday Alva caught her first fish. It was a 18" cat fish that weighed about 4 labs.
I can't wait to post pics it was soo funny, she caught it on a brim hook baited with bread and
her tiny pink fishing rod. In the pics she and her friends are holding their noses because of the smell. My grandmother took the pics on her camera so I have to wait until she emails them to me.
It will be worth the wait they are hilarious :)

Fun night

Last night we had a "Camp out" at my aunt and uncle's house.
I used quotation marks because our "camp" was in the back yard.
We had a lot of fun. My uncle cooked hotdogs on the grill and then we roasted marshmellos over a fire. I think that there was a totle of 11 kids.
There was a girls tent and a boys tent. Our tent got set-up ontop of an
ant hill:( owowow. but over all we had fun.

Bama Still Unbeaten

Alabama beat Georgia last night 41-31!
I know that does not look like much but at half time Bama was up
31-0, so Georgia made a really good come back in the second half.
We are still unbeaten.

Why I have not posted lately

Once again I have gotten to busy to post. Oh well:) But I have been helping my dad
with some business things and as always I have school work so I don't have a lot of
free computer time to blog. Oh and I found a cool website were you can sign-up and have a
virtual online horse and equestrian center all for free so I now "have" a horse, and a good bit of my time goes there because just like a real horse you have to feed, and water, and groom your horse. The website is called Howrse and if you sign-up please put my user name Ms. trainer in
the sponsor blank. here is a link www.howrse.com

Kombocha

This past week I made kombocha. I had never made kombocha before and it was fun! Kate gave me one of her SCOBYs to start making the kombocha with because every time you brew a batch the "mother" SCOBY grows a "baby" and they just keep multiplying. Kombocha is supposed to be very healthy and it seems to have helped my allergies and tastes good to. My mom and I like our kumbocha sweet so we only let it sit for 7 days, but you can leave it for longer if you like it sour, or tart.

School Work

I have a TON of school work. Besides normal school subjects I am taking 2 languages.
But it is fun I work for about 2 1/2 - 3 hours a day and get all my school done. The languages that I
am learning are Latin and German. I am using Latina Christiana books and CD for Latin, and
Live Mocha for German. I highly recommend live mocha it is an on-line language program similar
to Rosetta Stone but the great thing is that it is free. But you must be 13 or older to use it.

Bass Pro Shops

Today we went to the new Bass Pro Shops in Daphne. It is REALLY cool. The whole store
looks like a hunting loge and there are stuffed animals everywhere, there is a big fish tank
and one of the biggest cat fish I have ever seen. The store has all kinds of hunting , fishing and outdoor gear that is actually not that expensive, there are also lots of hunting and fishing nick knacks and decorations. There is also a restaurant in the store but we did not go there.

Phelps Makes History!

Last night Michael Phelps won his 8th gold medal to surpass Mark Spitz's
record of 7 medals in one Olympics. The U.S men's team won gold in the men's 4x100m medley relay with Phelps swimming the butterfly leg, and Jason Lezac
again swimming the anchor leg for gold.

7 Golds for Phelps!

On Friday night Michael Phelps won his seventh gold medal of these games
in the men's 100m fly. He beat the Russian swimmer by .01 of a second. Phelps has now tided
American Mark Spitz 7 golds from the 1972 Olympics, he is trying for 8 golds in one Olympics.
It has never been done. He already has 13 career golds, the most ever. Go Phelps.

Busy Busy Busy

Well I have not posted in awhile because I have been really busy.
I had been blogging at night when the little kids were in bed, but this week
we have been watching the Olympics and I just have not had time to blog. But the Olympics have been really good, if you have not watched them I found
videos of the events on nbcolympics.com. I highly recommend that you watch the men's 4x100 relay video. We watched the relay live (I think) and it was phenomenal, the U.S. won but only by a point second or two. I won't tell you the rest so that if you go watch it I won't have spoiled it for you.

Four days without dad

Today dad left for a business conference in Dallas. He will be gone for four long days.
I guess that we are a bit spoiled because dad hardly ever has to leave so when he does have to
go is seems like a long time before he comes home, though my mom tries to make the time go faster by doing fun things we still really miss dad.

What I have been doing

Well it has been about a week since I last posted, so I will tell you what I have
been doing. Last Saturday I made 21 jars of pickles! We don't know how
they taste yet because pickles have to cure so I'm hoping that they are
good.( This is the first time that I have made pickles by my self.) Then this
pasted week I have been working on a paint by numbers that my parents gave me for christmas two years ago. I had allready started it but had not finished.
The painting is three horses at a stream the picture on the box is really
pretty and I think that when I am done it will look nice. I am really trying to
finish the painting because when I first got it I repainted my room to match
it and the room has now been done for about a year and a half and the insperation for it is about 3/4 of the way done. Any way I allso found a really cool blog with FREE templates (the link on my side bar will bring you to it)
so I changed my template. Well from now on I am going to try to keep up with my blogging this is a lot of typing and my fingers are geting tired!

I CAN DRIVE!

Even though I am not yet 15 I found out today that legally I can
learn to drive! My Uncle and I talked to a Police officer and he said that I can
even legally drive on the road for short periods of time, but that I shouldn't
because if some one was recklessly driving and hit me I could some how be at fault because I don't have my permit, so I should drive on private property.

house and then (my favorite part) we did karaoke.
There were so many people that my uncle started calling
it "Flanagan Idle" so my mom went home and got a prize.
We had a really fun time my aunt and I sang a duet to "Our Song"
by Taylor Swift, my dad and josh sang "Five O'clock some where"
and we all sang allot more songs that I wont post because it would take to long.

Bay Bears

Last night we went to the Bay Bears
Game at the Hank. My grandparents came
with us and we had a great time. The Bay Bears won,
and since it was Friday it was fire works night!
Well we decided to watch the fire works
on Bay Bear mountain, nothing wrong with
that except that to get to the mountain
you have to walk over an area were the
water slide had been drained, and I did not see all the
wet grass in time and I stepped in the mud but did not get
a lot of mud in my shoes. Then there was more wet grass
because of all the rain, and I almost fell in that because I did not see it and started to slip thankfully I did not fall down but I got a ton of
mud and grass in my shoes nasty yuck gross disgusting.
Then I had to walk all the way to the car in them, even
more gross then stepping in the mud because they stank and where
squishy. But the fireworks where really good. So we had a fun night
overall.

Americas Junior Miss

My mom and I went to a reception
for a few of the Junior Misses from 2007
at the Ben main library in down town
Mobile. It was really neat the
girls all spoke and talked about what
their favorite book had been when
they were younger and the Americas
Junior Miss pageant. Then there were
refreshments in another room and you could
get the girls autographs, I got Miss Alabama's and
Miss South Carolina's.

Blueberry pics

Here some of the pics that we took with our sign.

Miss Sibylla's

We went to miss Sibylla's house on
Wednesday night, and stayed
'til Saturday night. We had sooo much
fun. Our friends the Winkleys were there
and we went swimming and blueberry picking together
and then sold the blueberries. It was fun

Blueberries

We went blueberry picking the other day

and in an hour and a half we picked 19 pounds!

We only had to pay one dollar a pound

so we went back to miss Sibylla's house

and sold them for Two dollars and fifty cents a pound.

we made about forty dollars but we had

to pay miss Sibylla back for the berries

and then split the remainder between

seven kids. So we did not get a lot of

money.

Glory Road

We watched an amazing movie
last night called Glory Road!
The movie is based on the
true story of the Texas
Western University basket ball team.
In 1966 Don Haskins is hired to coach the
Texas Western basket ball team and since
he has very little money for recruiting nobody wants to
come play for him. Then he finds some very talented
black kids and they accept the scholarship's that he
has. To find out what happens to the team in that
turbulent time you have to watch the movie. I would rate it with 5 stars.

Awesome

Yesterday we went swimming at
our friends house. It was sooo fun!Alex's
Dad had built a trellis on the back of their house.
The trellis was 7 or 8 feet high. Then Travis nailed
a piece of plywood to it.When they got the pool they
put it by the trellis. So we climbed up a ladder
on to the plywood and jumped in to the pool. It was awesome.

Magee Farms Re-enactment

A couple of weeks ago I went to a

Civil War Re-enactment at Magee farm.
It was great! There was a battle at
2:00pm and then a dance
at 7:00pm for everyone in period attire. If anyone is interested the web site is
www.historicmageefarm.com
